The Honest Company Review | Non-Toxic & USDA Organic

THE HONEST COMPANY is focused on creating non-toxic household  and beauty products. The company is founded by Golden Globe-nominated actress and mother of two daughters, Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan.

What I haven’t paid much attention to before is how much toxic chemicals were in our everyday products like shampoo, detergent and common household products. I simply made the assumption that everything on store shelves are safe. That is not always the case. There are a lot of toxic chemicals found in everyday products linked to chronic diseases: autism, cancer, etc. We can make safer and better choices for our family and ourselves. It is important to always create the safest and most loving environment for our children and family; but also for ourselves!

The Honest Company makes personal care products, eco-friendly cleaning products, and natural, high performing diapers with super cool print designs. All these can be purchase and you could save up to 35% off with a Honest Company coupon code found at the end of this post.

I have sensitive skin and during the winter time it gets super dried. I first discovered THE HONEST COMPANY beauty award winning Organic Healing Balm reading Allure Magazine.

Honest Healing Balm: This my go-to all in one beauty balm. It is made from all natural, certified organic oils, extracts, and beeswax. It is the best balm ever and is super versatile. It is safe to use on diaper rash, irritated skin, eczema, minor cuts and scrapes. I even use it as hand cream around my very dry cuticles. I’ve noticed significant improvements once I have reduced using cleaning products with parabens and chemicals. My skin is becoming soft and normal. But it is difficult because it would simply be weird if I brought my hand wash to the office! Since finishing every drop of the Honest Essentials Trial kit, I’ve re-purchased the Organic Healing Balm several times.

Honest Shampoo and Body Wash: My hairdresser always told me I have really amazing and healthy hair. After using The Honest shampoo and body wash, I can honestly say there is no residue and buildup. This tear-free shampoo is not only great for babies, but is equally addicting for adults.

The funny thing is that after using the shampoo, I’ve had great skin overall. I don’t feel itchy and dry as I normally do after a shower. The Honest shampoo and body wash contains Jojoba and quinoa proteins strengthen and fortifies with all 8 essential amino acids. I also really love the citrus smell of sweet orange vanilla. There is also my favorite Organic coconut oil which moisturizes and chamomile, calendula and aloe that gently soothe and nourishes. Best of all? It smells like creamsicles.

Hypoallergenic • Tear-Free • Color-Safe • Vegan • Biodegradable • pH Balanced • Naturally Non-Toxic

Honest Face and Body Lotion: This is a great compliment to the Organic Healing Balm. This medium weight lotion initially goes on a bit oily, but as soon as it is rubbed in, the oily feeling disappears. I feel that this Honest face and body lotion is a good daily nourishing, calming, and hydrating moisturizer. I have had no allergic reaction and no acne or breakouts. This lotion is made with Organic olive, shea, jojoba and safflower oils to hydrate and restore skin’s natural moisture balance. Chamomile, calendula and aloe are also included to soothe and protect. Free from silicones, parabens, phthalates, fragrances, dyes, formaldehyde, PEG, petrochemicals and most common allergens.

Honest Wipes: I don’t have a child so I can’t comment on how effective they are for wiping poop. But my girlfriend whom I’ve given the Diapers & Wipes Bundle Discovery Trial Kit to loves it. She loves the texture and the level of moisture to get the job done. Apparently, it goes a long way with a good strong wiping. I personally used them for the gym. Sometimes after a long sweaty run, I do not have time to shower during lunch time. It is a quick way to “freshen up” before going back to my desk. Honest Wipes are premium plant-based and natural cloth wipes. They are botanically infused pomegranate for antioxidants, chamomile and cucumber to soothe, and masterwort leaf to moisturize. It is also parabens free, chlorine-free, and phenols-free.
