I love online shopping. I used to share my beauty and deals scavenged on Friday Finds on another website a run called NOMSS. But since HelloNance is more beauty and lifestyle focused I thought I should share my purchases here instead. I always tell my friends that I'm a skincare junkie - I love trying new products - have you seen Fenty Beauty?! There's just too many new things constantly released. It's hard to keep up. My cupboards are full.
Here is a look inside my makeup / skincare medicine cabinet.
It's true, beauty comes from within. It's always a good idea to nourish yourself!
SmartyPants Women's Complete is more than just a multivitamin, it includes ten essential nutrients and omega 3 DHA and EPA fish oil – all in one. Plus it's chewable and tastes like gummy bears!
As a new mom the following are very very important to me:
- Omega 3s for brain health
- Folate for detox support
- Vitamin K2 and D for bone health
- CoQ10 for heart health
- Biotin for healthy skin, hair, and nails
- Iodine for thyroid function
- B12 for mental focus and energy metabolism
I also take Withinus TruMarine Collagen to help with hair lose, skin luminosity and muscle recovery. I have always taken this collagen supplement pre-baby (and temporary paused during pregnancy). It has help my post workout recoveries immensely. How collagen is supporting me postpartum?
Post-baby new moms need nutrients more than ever for recovery: pelvic floor weakness, abdominal healing, episiotomy healing, etc. I resumed taking collagen about 2 months postpartum and the results are incredible. I didn't experience the crazy hair lose people always talk about, my skin is still relatively supple despite postpartum hormonal changes, and I healed much quick compared to the previous months. But that's for another post some other time.
I repurchased Tatcha's The Essence toner again. I absolutely love this product and it leaves my skin hydrated and prepped to absorb serums, oils and moisturizers. While other toners have only a temporary topical effect, this essence lasts overnight and sinks to the dermis level.
Another really great facial essence is SKII's Facial Treatment Essence - many swears this Japanese toner is the holy grail of essence. I'm excited to reintroduce it to my skincare routine. If you are new or not familiar with SKII, then their Pitera Welcome Kit is perfect! You can get it from Sephora and it is the perfect size for travelling! Plus it also comes with a sheet mask!

Dior Addict Lacquer Stick: I'm don't normally wear lipsticks, but lately fell in love with this full-coverage lacquer lipstick that delivers high shine and intense colour with just one swipe. The colour I bought is #344 Rolling. It is an addictive hybrid that's half high-shine lacquer and half lip-loving lipstick - for an effortlessly chic look. The high-pigment pop shades glide on easily with one-coat coverage for weightless, comfortable wear that lasts for hours. Plus the colour is so natural! It's the perfect shade for that no makeup-makeup look!
Lastly, I bought a cookbook The First Forty Days: The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother. This is an interesting read with good recipes to help new mothers recover postnatal. I did the whole 30 days confinement period - full on no showers, herbal soups and natural supplements. I'm a firm believer that you can rebuild your pre-baby body with a better immune system. I no longer get cold feet and hands when the temperature dips.
